Pumps, compressors and inflators cover the jobsite work that needs air or water moved rather than material cut. Stick transfer pumps drop into a drum, sump or flooded vault and move liquid out on battery power, which is what makes them useful where running a generator and a hose reel is more setup than the task deserves. Hydraulic trash and dewatering pumps take over when the water is dirty, the volume is real or the work runs long — solids-handling designs that will pass debris a clean-water pump would choke on. On the air side, compact quiet compressors run nailers, blow-off and small pneumatic tools without the noise that makes a conventional compressor unwelcome indoors or on occupied sites. Cordless inflators handle truck and equipment tires with a set pressure and automatic shut-off, which is more accurate and quicker than a gauge and a guess. Hand-pump hydraulic kits sit alongside for knockout and punch work where no power is available at all. Choose by what is being moved, how much of it, and what power source is realistically going to be on site.

Sizing is mostly a question of head and volume. A transfer pump is rated by how high it has to lift as well as how much it has to move, and a pump that delivers its headline flow on a bench will deliver far less at the top of a twenty-foot vault, so read the curve rather than the top number. On the air side, tank capacity governs how long the tool runs before the motor restarts and CFM at 90 PSI governs whether it keeps up at all — a framing nailer is undemanding, a die grinder is not. Portable air compressors for jobsite use trade tank size for something one person can lift into a truck. Cordless tire inflators have effectively replaced the 12-volt inflator on service vehicles because they hold a set pressure without a running engine. Pair any of it with the right cord and a GFCI where the outlet is outdoors.
