You hear the name “kitchen rack” and you have a pretty clear idea already of what it’s going to do, right? “Kitchen” is right in the name and you’d be right to assume that you’d be using them...well, in the kitchen.
This may surprise you, but there’s actually a ton of uses for
kitchen organization in rooms that
aren’t the kitchen, of which you likely have a few! If you’ve got some kitchen storage you’re looking to repurpose elsewhere, or if maybe you’re just curious to find some slightly more unusual storage ideas for your home, check out these suggestions for using kitchen racks in other rooms!
Spice Racks as Makeup Storage: It’s okay, don’t feel bad -
everyone has too much nail polish, eye makeup, and the like these days, and it’s hard to know where to keep it all. If you’ve got some spice racks you’re not using, they’re probably a great size to hang onto some smaller makeup products! Mount them to the wall or put them in a drawer to keep those pesky compacts and nail polishes you haven’t used in a year tidied and out of the way!
Wine Racks In The Bathroom: We know what you’re thinking, and no, we’re not suggesting you keep your entire wine selection in the bathroom (even if you do enjoy a glass of wine in the bath every now and then), but
wine racks are actually pretty handy in the bathroom. Most wine holders are the perfect size to keep towels, bottled cleaning supplies, and even magazines/reading material right at hand in the bathroom without taking up as much room as something like a towel cabinet would take up.
Kitchen Islands (In The Sun): Kitchen islands are pretty handy for a number of things around the house, but they’re also super convenient to use outside. A good sturdy kitchen island can be easily rolled outside to serve as a drink holder on the porch, an ingredient/supply stand for outdoor barbecues, and even a mobile towel rack for anyone who has a pool!
Kitchen Cabinets In The Bedroom: If you’ve got kitchen cabinets you want out of the actual kitchen and usable somewhere else, they can very easily become dressers! Take out the shelves you don’t need, add some
cabinet organizers to hold onto smaller things (like those pesky socks), and move them into your room or even your kids’ rooms to add some rustic charm while keeping your sweaters more organized than ever before!
