Storage Space You Didn't Know You Had

You know we’re all about storage and organization here, and we’re always trying to find new ways to help you rack your world and get your house in order (but maybe not in that medieval Game of Thrones sense). Sometimes in our quest to help you get organized we find some tips or hit upon an idea that even makes us go “huh, never thought of that!” and we wanted to pass them along to you! If you feel like you’re running out of room and you don’t know what to do, here’s a few less-common storage areas you might not know you even have:
  • If your entryway is getting a little cluttered but you still need a place to sit, you can take out whatever chairs you already have and replace them with a storage bench to help give you a little extra organization while giving your family a place to sit while they put their shoes on!
  • Does your basement have a crawl space or do you have an open storage area under your apartment floor? These smaller spaces can be lined with wall mounted shelves or wire shelving racks to help give you extra room to hoard whatever it is you need to keep around.
  • Need more kitchen space but don’t want to get into a costly remodeling job? You can actually use home & equipment lockers as compartments inside an empty pantry to divide everything up and bring a unique look into your kitchen!
  • Many homes have a lot of unused overhead space like narrow hallways or small, out-of-the-way cubbies. These areas are perfect for floating wood shelves or smaller storage cabinets to keep items out of the way and up high!
  • Got a cat who wants a little privacy when they...do their business? Or maybe you have a small dog who needs some room for his bed? If you have some smaller storage cabinets or file cabinets these can be cleared out and turned into a little cubby for your pets to hang out in or use for their own needs.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, of course. If you’ve got any empty space or unused furniture around the house, all you need is a little imagination and some of that old DIY spirit to open up opportunities to get yourself organized!
