Organizing Your Laundry Room

Behold, the humble laundry room - an often underappreciated room that serves a fairly important role for your family. After all, where would we be without clean clothes and fresh bedsheets, right? However, when it comes to organization and cleaning, the laundry room frequently goes overlooked. You’ve got your soap, you’ve got your fabric softener, you’ve got a few laundry baskets...what else is there, right? But there’s a lot of advantages and convenience to organizing your laundry room - why not try some of these handy tips and find out for yourself? -Often, the hardest thing to organize in a laundry room are the cleaning supplies you use (soaps, fabric softeners, Febreze sprays, etc). If you have the space, get some chrome wire shelving or some plastic storage bins to help keep your soaps and detergents together, organized, and out of the way! -Laundry rooms are also a great place to create a space for your pet’s stuff. Litter boxes, beds, and food dishes are all items to consider keeping in a corner of the laundry room if you’ve got the space, and it will help free up space in the rest of your house! -Over the door baskets are a great way to help free up space elsewhere in the laundry room, and are usually the perfect size to hang onto smaller items like fabric softener sheets, spray bottles, and whatever else you need out of the way. -Getting a few laundry hampers to help organize clean vs. dirty clothes will help you de-clutter your laundry room, and you’ll be grateful they’re there when it comes time to put the laundry away! -Considering how many socks tend to go missing over the years, it’s probably a good idea to dedicate some space to a lost-and-found. Grab a box, a basket, or anything else that can hold onto lost and lonely extra clothing, and you’ll have a place for all those extra socks that show up out of nowhere! Follow these tips and your laundry room should (hopefully) be as clean as those clothes you’re taking out of the dryer!
