Keeping Your Entryway Neat And Organized

What’s the first thing you do when you walk in the door at home? Do you take your shoes off? During the colder months, you probably want to take your coat, gloves, and scarf off as soon as possible. When you’re walking in the door carrying things like bags, packages, or mail, you’ll want to be able to set those down right away. A well designed entryway will make it convenient for you to do all of these things and help prevent this busy part of the house from looking too cluttered. Here are a few tools we love for keeping entryways looking neat and inviting, not cluttered: Coat Racks Standing Coat Rack Nobody really wants to keep wearing their big, heavy winter coat once they’re back in the house, so it only makes sense to have a place to hang your coat right in the entryway. Whether you prefer having hooks mounted on the wall or a more traditional flapper coat rack, they’re by far one of the best ways to keep your entryway organized. Shoe Racks Since so many people take their shoes off right after they walk in the door, entryways can easily end up becoming home to big, haphazard piles of shoes. Prevent that from happening by keeping a shoe rack by the door. That way, shoes will have a place to go instead of forming a pile on the floor. Not only will your entryway look more organized, you won’t have to waste time searching through a big pile of shoes to find the other half of the pair you want to wear. Do you tend to wear a lot of tall boots during the colder months that just don’t work with regular shoe racks? There are boot racks which are designed to work with the unusual shape of boots. Benches Storage Bench Although some shoes can easily be taken of without having to sit down, if you’re wearing shoes that need to be untied or unzipped, it’s much easier to take them off if you can sit down. This is why it’s a great idea to have a bench in your entryway. Best of all, many benches have additional storage like shoe racks, drawers, cubbies, and even coat hooks already built in so the right type of bench could easily be an all-in-one type of storage solution!
