It takes more to organize a bathroom than you may think. On average, people use the bathroom for a considerably diverse array of activities, which can lead to some pretty large messes. We’ve all seen it before - shampoo bottles, blowdryers, combs, hair spray and countless other products recklessly dispersed across the countertop and floor. Whether it’s our roommates doing or your own, the bottom line is that a disheveled bathroom is never good to have. Here’s what you can do to reorganize yours.
Categorize for Efficiency
If you think about it, bathroom activities calls for their own distinct type of tools or utensils. For optimal bathroom storage, it’s best practice to classify these goods into categories based on their function; doing makes scavenging for things like the toothbrush or hair gel immensely easier.
- Dental hygiene: Dental floss, mouthwash, toothbrush, and anything else you use to keep your mouth clean.
- Hair products: This should be compiled of everything you use to wash, style, and groom your hair.
- Shower supplies: Shampoos, conditioners, and scrubbers
- Fragrances: Colognes, perfumes, and deodorants.
- Medicines: Usually placed in a medicine cabinet, this category should contain band-aids, general medications against the cold or flu, and anything else that relates to fighting illnesses. Also, make sure to keep these out of reach from children or anyone else that shouldn’t be in reach of certain medicines.
- Other: robes, towels, and any other goods that don’t fit into a specified category
- Plastic storage bin: Ideal for shower supplies; best to be placed beneath the sink.

- Wire shelving: Place a wire shelving unit in the corner, possibly behind the toilet. Use the shelves to stack towels, toilet paper, decorations, and other goods.

- Mini baskets: Quaint, wooden mini baskets make the perfect compartment to store your teeth-cleaning goods. Place the mini basket in a drawer or cabinet beneath your sink.

- Floating Wall Cabinet: Designate shelves for specific groups; for instance, two might be used for fragrances while the rest used for medicines.
