Sure, now is a time of year we all tend to hear a lot about “spring cleaning”, but even if your neck of the woods hasn’t quite warmed up yet there’s always something to keep busy with!
If you’re looking for a few small projects to tackle around the house before you really jump headfirst into spring cleaning, why not check out our handy list and get yourself started?
Tidy Up The Entryway: First impressions count for a lot, and a lot of people tend to overlook their entryway and mudroom when it comes to spring cleaning. Get a head start on things by repainting your front door, hanging up some decorations, and setting up some entryway furniture to make it more inviting and practical!
Quiet Those Floorboards: Got a bad squeak in your floorboard somewhere? Sprinkle a little talcum powder into the space between floorboards - it will act as a lubricant to quiet floorboards that rub against each other.
Purge The Kitchen: We know how hard it can be to part with your favorite canned goods, but clearing out your kitchen can be a great starting point for spring cleaning and a good home project to keep up on in the meantime! Get some kitchen organization stuff and tidy up the counter, clean out the fridge and pantry, and rearrange some of those pesky drawers you keep stuffed with Tupperware dishes that are all missing their lids. You’ll be glad when you’re done!
Loose Doorknobs and Hinges: One of those things you always think about doing but never actually do, this is a good way to get yourself motivated to tackle bigger projects. Grab a screwdriver, some toothpicks, and wood glue and check your doorknobs and hinges to get rid of any squeaks or looseness!
Freshen Up The Living Room: You don’t need to do anything drastic, but you’d be surprised what a difference it can make if you rearrange your living room a little! Tidy up the bookshelves, move your living room furniture around to open up the room a little bit, hang up some new decorations, and when you’re done it’ll feel like you moved, except you didn’t have to rent a van and you didn’t lose anything on the way!
And hey, even if this is all you get done, this is still a great way to get some projects done around your house!
